Orientation Program

The Orientation Programme was organized by Bapu Degree College on 24th June 2019 at the college auditorium for the new batch of students. Dr. E.Venkata Reddy, Principal, Bapu Degree College, gave a brief introduction of the college and addressed the students and parents about the importance of education. Prof. Sushma .J, Vice Principal spoke about the semester plan and achievements of the college.

Talent’s Week

To encourage and discover the hidden talents in the young students, a spectrum of competitions were conducted in the talent’s week which was held from 8-7-19 to 12-7-19. The events were Solo singing, best out of waste, solo dance, Debate competition and mehndi. All the students participated in the events enthusiastically.

Fresher’s Day

The Fresher’s Day was organized on 13-7-19. The Principal Dr. E.Venkata Reddy addressed the gathering and stressed that learning is a continuous and prerequisite process. He gave a motivational talk about student’s future, discipline and value based education and counseled them the ways to be prepare to face all odd situations in life.

 

Prior to the Fresher’s Day, Talent’s Week was conducted from 8th to 12th July with various cultural events like Solo dance, Solo singing, Debate etc. Students participated enthusiastically and won prizes. Mr. Fresher award was awarded to Manoj BCom I Sem and Ms. Fresher was awarded to Karishma BCom I Sem. The event concluded with distribution of prizes.

Folk Singing Competition

Promoting the Indian Culture folk singing competition was held at college on Over 50 students participated in the event. The folk songs of diverse regions and states, songs passed down through oral tradition from one generation to another were sung in memorable and familiar tunes by the participants.

Collage Making Competition

Collage Making competition was organized for students on 22nd August 2019 in the college with an objective to enrich students experience in pictorial composition and explore student’s creativity and imagination. The topic for the event was “Natural Calamity”. 25 teams with 3 participants in a team participated and this activity boosted the divergent thinking as they had to decide how to make the best use of newspaper clippings and other materials to express their thoughts.

Teacher’s Day

To mark the birth day of the great teacher and philosophist Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan teacher’s day was observed and celebrated at college on 6th September 2019 in auditorium. The programme commenced with invocation song followed by welcome skit and this high lightened the importance of teachers in one’s life.

Sports Day

The Annual Sports Day was held on 8-8-19 with great zeal and excitement. The programme began with the Principal Dr. E.Venkata Reddy welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in child’s life. The chief guest took the salute of the impressive march past of the students with marching music by the band. The students took oath being administered by the sports captain. The students displayed an aerobic dance mesmerizing the audience. The students competed in events including relays, sack race etc. Fun time with staff playing tug of war added to the enjoyment.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

On 26th July 2019, the NSS committee of the college organized a talk by an army personal Major Shikhar Meston from Indian Army who briefed about the life of a cadet using videos which included their daily routine. He also explained about the procedure to join an army using PPTs.

Independence Day

Independence was celebrated on 15th August 2019 with great splendor, joy and respect for mother India. Dr. Kamalamma. N, President BGEI hoisted the tricolor flag and addressed the students and faculties with great patriotism.

Plog Run Plastic

In the bid to clean the plastic waste in the city , a plog run event was organize by Bapu Degree College at Yeshwanthpur on 4-10-19. The event aimed at making city plastic free by jogging and picking up dry plastic. The students collected plastic waste in the bag and finally dispose if off at a designated spot.

World Literacy Day

On 9th September 2019 Bapu Degree College organized a survey to know the literacy rate in the  nearby slum of Yeshwanthpur. Students of class BCA and BBA under the guidance of NSS coordinator Mr.Gavisidda. G voluntarily collected the information of the residents in the area and gave an insight of importance of education. The students encouraged and motivated the people to send their children to school.

Disha Workshop

Disha an NGO based in Bengaluru organized a workshop for UG students with the vision to guide the youth in India using value education. This workshop helped the students to understand the glorious culture and legacy of our country so that they can carry it forward through their lives. There were many different sessions like games, audio-visual, group discussions, counseling etc to enhance student’s knowledge.

Awake Programme

Women Cell in association with Equal Opportunity Cell arranged a visit to AWAKE to promote entrepreneurship ideas and skills among students as a means to achieve self reliance and socio-economic independence. Students from BCom and BBA department accompanied by two faculties visited the organization and participated in the counseling programme conducted by certified business counselors voluntarily.

Cauvery Calling

Cauvery, like almost all rivers in India is forest fed. In the last year, the suffering of farmers and their suicides in Tamilnadu and Karnataka in the Cauvery basin have made national headlines. To reverse this situation revitalize Cauvery, rejuvenate the soil and improve farmer’s income, the students of Bapu Degree College went on a rally saying the slogan with placards to save Cauvery.

Blood Donation Awareness

The awareness on blood donation was held on 26th August 2019 for all BCA students. Chief Guest Lion. V. Ravinder from Lion’s club shared his views about the need to donate blood and its advantages to donors. He also indicated one donor can save 4 lives.

Sadbhavana Diwas

Sadbhavana Diwas is observed on 20th August in remembrance of our late Honorable Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. This day is observed to encourage peace, affection and communal harmony among people. Yeshwanthpur Police Station officers conducted an awareness programme for V and III Sem BBA students and inspired them to spread communal harmony among people of all religion and language and made students to recite Sadbhavana Diwas pledge.

100th year Jallianwala Bagh

Sodari Niveditha Poatishthan visited Bapu Degree College on 28th August to commemorate the 100 years of Jalianwala Bagh incident. They presented a video to the students to create awareness among the youth about the black day in Indian history. It wasn’t a celebration but a day to remember the hero’s and sacrifices of thousands of lives in the unfair incident during British rule in India.

Swach Bharath Abhiyan

Swach Bharath Abhiyan aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of Indian cities, towns, urban and rural areas. On this eve of culmination a cleanliness awareness campaign was led by 50 BBA students on 16-7-19 which was conducted at Yeshwanthpur Railway station. The students took pla cards and said the slogans of ‘clean India, green India’ and propelled the public to keep their environment and surroundings clean.

Faculty Development Programme

Faculty Development programme was conducted by Bapu Degree College on 26th October 2019. Mrs. Geetha Srinivasan, life skill trainer and faculty trainer was the guest speaker who conducted this FDP to emphasize knowledge up gradation diverse skills and multiple roles and responsibilities like group teaching, problem based tutorials etc.

Saraswati Puja/Navrathri

Navrathri festival is celebrated for nine days as epitome of the victory of good over evil. On this occasion Bapu Degree staff celebrated this festival by wearing corresponding colors as the each day of festival stands for an auspicious color.

Saraswathi Pooja was organized by the students to seek the blessings of the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. Both faculty and students joined hands together with great zeal. Rituals were conducted and the event ended by serving prasad to everyone present.

Ganapathi Festival

The students celebrated Ganapathi Festival with great pomp and gaiety on                      The Puja was dutifully attended by all the Bapu Institution faculties and students with everyone looking at their best in traditional attire. Cultural committee organized singing competition for PU students and presented cash prizes for winners. The President of BGEI Dr. Kamalamma addressed the students about the importance of celebrating Ganesha festival. She gave an opinion to conduct seminars related to the importance of festivals as students will learn about the culture and its importance. Prior to this festival ganesha making competition was held at the college and prizes were given to students for making the best idol.

Parents Teachers Meet

The college organized parents teachers meet on —— in the college premises at 9.00am. The parents interacted with teachers to find out their wards performance in the respective test conducted. The main purpose of the meet served as a connection platform between parents and teachers to discuss about the students development.

ITC Sun feast

Industrial visit for all BBA students was organized on _____ to ITC Sun feast biscuit factory at Whitefield, Bangalore. The students were made aware of the process of the biscuits of different flavors. At the end of the session a pack of choc fills were given to students as a token of love.

BHEL

I year B.Com students visited BHEL on 3rd august 2019. They had an exposure about practical working environment in manufacturing sector. The students learnt about the proclaim of raw material, entry shift of raw materials etc thus gaining knowledge about industrial practices.

UNIBIC

The industrial visit to UNIBIC was organized on 18th November 2019. The industrial visit to UNIBIC was an eye opener for 1st BBA students. This visit exposed the students to the way organizations function and in particular the basics of company registration and the process of role played by man, money, machine and material. This visit achieved its objective of giving industrial exposure to students.

Trekking

With the objective of improving listening and cooperation skills, develop team building and other inter personal skill in an individual, Bapu Degree college organized an outdoor activity “Trekking” for students of BBA and BCA department to SRS hills Ramanagara. The students equipped themselves with essential requirements needed for the trekking and climbed up and enjoyed the beauty of the hill, view of the lake and neighboring hills.

Swimming

Activity based learning/training programme was conducted an Elite Aquatic Centre, Shettihalli, Bangalore under the guidance of Mr.Dilip Kumar SU, PED of college on 27/07/2019. Students got to learn techniques of safety to be followed while they are around water, Students also enjoyed and participated in various team building games. It was a fruitful session and stress buster for students.

GRS Fantasy Park

With the objective of improving listening and cooperation skills, develop team building and other inter personal skill in an individual, Bapu Degree college organized an outdoor activity “Trekking” for students of BBA and BCA department to SRS hills Ramanagara. The students equipped themselves with essential requirements needed for the trekking and climbed up and enjoyed the beauty of the hill, view of the lake and neighboring hills.

PM relief fund

North Karnataka was severely affected due to floods. Many people lost their lives and houses. As part of social responsibility the college management along with the help of students donated generously for PM relief Fund.
